What is Prosperity to You?

Many people think that being financially wealthy is being prosperous, but prosperity encompasses so much more than that. What is the purpose of being wealthy if you have no peace of mind? There is no joy, no happiness, and no-one to share your money with. Poor people can have prosperity in their soul and rich people can be poor in spirit. What is prosperity to you? Please share your thoughts.

  5. Hey Mia:

Prosperity to me is in all areas of my life. The Bible talks about financial prosperity specifically on many occasions but prosperity can be in all areas. Spiritual prosperity - gifts of the spirit and we are to desire the greatest. We can prosper in our relationships with love and respect. So I think for me prosperity means the more desired place/position.

Your timing is perfect. I was writing in my journal about financial prosperity. I was reminded that David cried out - "Save now, I pray, O LORD; O O LORD, I pray, send now prosperity"; Jabez (who's more famous now than ever) prayed to God to expand his territory and the Lord granted it; Deut says that I "will remember the Lord our God for it is he who gives us the power to get wealth".

This happens to be an area of my life that I am seeking prosperity. When I'm focused on other areas of my life then I seek out prosperity in those areas.

    Make sense?

    Great blog!

  6. Prosperity to me means not having Lack of anything.... support, finances, health, relationships and so much more.. Many value prosperity based on how much money you have attained or currently hold... becuase it's what we have been taught... which is not the case... Prosperity has to come from within... Because when you have all the things in the world... The question you must ask is what's left?

In the times that we live in, it's important that we put God first in our lifes. We as individuals must understand only what we do for Christ is going to last.....Make sure that the Legacy you leave behind is Christ centered and an example to follow.Your Life,Love,Peace,Joy,Strength and Faith is declared by the Words you speak on a daily basis. So speak Life,Speak the Word of God over your circumstances, issues, dilemas and watch God work it out for you...Be Blessed
