The Power of the Tongue

There is great power in the words we speak. When the spoken word is released from your mouth, they go out and manifest what you say with astounding accuracy. You must begin to expand your speech, and  when you expand your speech, you expand your world and all that is in it. Remember that death and life is in your tongue, so use your words to speak blessings, health, prosperity, and peace into your life.

The Bible says the we shall be accountable for every “idle” word we speak. How have you been using the power of your words lately?

Share your thoughts and feelings on the above question. Do you believe that with strong emotion, your conditions can change by the power of your words? Please share.

  1. Words are powerful and we must be careful about the words we speak. Mama always said, "If you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all." We can hurt people badly by what we say. If we have positive minds, we will think and speak positively.

  4. Mia, I first want to say that I LOVE this topic. As a child I was very cautious in speaking...I listened and observed intently and I was very quiet. I found peace in my silence.

Later my mother would tell me that I needed to go back to my childhood ways because "I ran my mouth too much." Now I have found myself being more cautious in the words I speak once again. As you quoted from the Bible, even "idle" words have power. I have been among friends who seem to take pleasure in denigrating others...as if it is a sport or a way of building themselves up. I no longer feel comfortable around these kind of people even if they are friends. I have found that these same "friends" will turn on you in a heartbeat.

There is no such thing as idle chatter. Thank you so much for this powerful reminder, Mia.

  5. I truly believe that we are what we speak,, i tell my children all the time that when you think negative than negative follows our words like a mist of smoke..... Kill the flame of negativity and light it with positive thinking and words,,,,we are the definition of failure if we think with hate and speak with harsh words......................
